Materialism

Materialism is the belief that matter is the fundamental substance of nature and that all things, including mind and consciousness, arise from material interactions and physical processes. This contrasts with Idealism, which holds that reality is equivalent to mind, spirit, or consciousness, and that reality (truth) is either a mental construct or that ideas are the highest type of reality.
