Golgotha

Golgotha was the official Roman crucifixion site for Jerusalem. The name is Greek, derived from the Aramaic Golgolta. But the Romans called the site Calvary. Its exact location is uncertain, but The Urantia Book states that it was located north of the city along the road leading out of the Damascus Gate, and implies that it was not far (Paper 187). And “Beyond Golgotha were the villas of the wealthy, and on the other side of the road were the tombs of many well-to-do Jews.”
