Zoroaster

Zoroaster (Zarathushtra) was an Iranian (Persian) religious reformer who challenged the Persian religion of the time. Zoroastrianism became a prominent religion in Iran until the rise of Islam in the 7th century. Its ideas later influenced Mithraism, Judaism, and Christianity. Zoroaster was familiar with the Melchizedek missionaries, and their doctrine of the one God became a central teaching in his religion. See Zarathushtra.
