Caesarea-Philippi

Caesarea-Philippi, also called Dan and known today as Banius, was a city in the Golan Heights about 60 km (37 mi) north of the Sea of Galilee and near the Jordan River. In Jesus’ time, it was the capital city of the Batanea region and home to the ruling Tetrarch, Philip.
