The Mount of Olives, or Mount Olivet, is a low mountain ridge in East Jerusalem, adjacent to Jerusalem’s Old City. In Jesus’ time, the palace of Annas, the high priest, was situated here. Today, it is a major site of pilgrimage for Christians.
