In the time of Jesus, Magdala was a fishing village on the west shore of the Sea of Galilee. In his youth, Jesus went on fishing excursions here. Later, it became the home of his brother, Jude. It was also the home of Mary Magdalene, who was rescued by the evangelical women’s corps. See Map of Palestine.
