Matthew Levi was the seventh apostle, chosen by Andrew. He was the customs collector of Capernaum and became the fiscal agent of the apostolic corps, contributing much of his own funds. His weakness was his shortsighted and materialistic viewpoint of life. His strong point was his wholehearted devotion to the cause. He was intensely loyal to Jesus and led thousands into the kingdom.
