Mount Hermon forms part of a mountain cluster at the southern end of the Anti-Lebanon range. Jesus spent time on the mountain during his transition years and later during his transfiguration. The area of Mount Hermon that Jesus climbed is near Beit Jinn in the southern range where he ascended 6,000 ft (1,828 m). The highest peak is farther north at 9,232 ft (2,814 m).
