The Salem religion, or Salem gospel, as promulgated by Machiventa Melchizedek, prepared the way for the bestowal of a Paradise Son of God. The cardinal precepts of his teachings were trust and faith. He taught trust in the omnipotent beneficence of God and proclaimed that faith was the act by which people earned God’s favor—a free gift to all who would believe his gospel.
