Simon Zelotes was the 11th apostle, chosen by Peter. He was a fiery agitator and spoke much without thinking. He was a merchant in Capernaum before turning his attention to the patriotic organization of the Zealots. But Jesus won Simon over to the higher concepts of the kingdom, and he became a powerful and effective preacher. He was put in charge of recreational activities. His strength was his inspirational loyalty, his weakness was his material-mindedness.
