Zebedee of Bethsaida–Capernaum was a boatbuilder. Jesus worked for him for a little over a year, designing a new style of boat in that time. He was a confidant of Jesus and the only one who knew of his Mediterranean journey. Two of his sons, James and John, became apostles, while the third, David, assisted in many other ways. Zebedee’s home later served as Jesus’ headquarters.
