Gethsemane (Park) was situated on the western slope of the Mount of Olives, not far from the Kidron brook.
Jesus and the apostles often pitched their tents in these environs. Knowing he was about to be betrayed and crucified, Jesus went through a great trial of faith in Gethsemane (“…and while this is a bitter cup, I would drink it if it is your will”). See Paper 182. Also see Mark 14.
